In my second year of Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD), I worked in a team of four students to design and develop a physical interactive product. The challenge was to create something without a screen interface. Through research, interviews, and extensive idea generation, we created GlowTales.

GlowTales is a bookshelf that reads bedtime stories aloud and includes a built-in nightlight. It is designed for children aged 6-10 who are afraid of the dark and struggle to fall asleep. Parents can record personalized stories to comfort their child, helping them feel safe and fall asleep more easily.

Working on GlowTales has been a great experience, especially with teamwork. We shared ideas and worked together to improve the design. Prototyping was important in bringing our ideas to life and testing them. I learned a lot about Arduino during this project, especially how to make the product multimodal by using different sensors. It was a valuable experience that helped me improve both my design and tech skills.
